This time, you don't fight any of the robots in the NES version. Instead, your foes are named after planets in the solar system. They are better known as Stardroids. Wily is in the game but for once, he is not the very last boss. The four kings of terror return: Enker, Quint, Punk, and Ballade. We also see the return of one of Megaman's prolific enemies of all time starring as the first mini-boss. =============================================================================== CONTROLS =============================================================================== Buster Shot and most special weapons: press B Jump: Press A Climb ladders: Up or Down when overlapping one to grab then use up or down to climb. Dr. Wily's fourth attempt at world domination has failed, and his name faded from the minds of the citizens of the world. A few months later... Terra: So you are the famous Megaman! I am Terra – and you will soon be my slave! Megaman: What? My Mega Buster has no effect on him... A few hours later, the world was attacked by warrior robots from space. Megaman: Where am I? Dr. Light found Megaman and equipped him with the new "Mega Arm," the most powerful weapon ever devised. Why have the stardroids come here!? =============================================================================== Bosses =============================================================================== Mercury The easiest of all the Stardroids. His main attacks involves splitting up and moving to the other sides. He rarely uses the Grab Buster. Venus He hops around a lot and uses a lot of Bubble Bombs in different sizes. The Photon Missiles can burst his bubble. Mars He is tough but with seven Salt Waters, he'll be history. He shoots Photon Missiles a machine gun, charges and leaves mines afterwards. Jupiter Built like an eagle, and he also likes to stay along the top of the screen and use Electric Shocks when directly above. The Bubble Bombs are best against him. Saturn It's a fitting name since he tosses his ring around and tries to retrieve it by sliding to it. His other attacks are the Black Hole which draws you in or the time freeze with normal shots following it. Five Electric Shocks are enough to take him down. Uranus Be careful of this guy, he uses an instant kill move which is causing the ceiling to cave in by jumping up and down. He also uses Deep Diggers too. Neptune Not as easy as Mercury but his pattern is simple. Avoid his hops then his Salt Water. Pluto He follows a pattern which is a big mistake for him. Two shots, Break Dash, zigzag up the wall, and fire three homing balls. The Grab Buster not only does the most damage but it also refills two bars for your energy. Terra Shoots various forms of Spark Chasers. One is a straight laser, one is a homing laser, and one is a spiraling circle that freezes you. Dark Moon Heeeee's back. This dude finally makes an appearance in the Gameboy series. As usual, his weak spot is his eye when it is exposed. CL - Upgrade for the Mega Arm. Grab and attack the enemy over and over. MH - Extends the Mega Arm and grabs items. =============================================================================== Shop =============================================================================== Little E - 20 P Chips E Tank - 60 P Chips CL - 100 P Chips MH - 90 P Chips 1-up – 50 P Chips Energy Balancer - 140 P Chips w-Tank - 30 P Chips S-Tank - 120 P Chips Refill all Weapons - 80 P Chips =============================================================================== Weapons =============================================================================== Grab Buster – obtained from Mercury. Use this to grab life energy from the enemy and add it to your own. Bubble Bombs – obtained from Venus. A bubble spirals around you then floats away and hits an enemy in air. Photon Missile – obtained from Mars. Stars out in a still position then rockets away at the enemy. Electric Shock - obtained from Jupiter. A closed range weapon that deals a lot damage to those within range. Black Hole - obtained from Saturn. Attacks everyone on the screen. Deep Digger - obtained from Uranus. Use this to dig blocks below you and throw them. They split on contact with the wall. Salt Water - obtained from Neptune. Starts as a big drop of water then splits into three when it hits a surface. Break Dash - obtained from Pluto. A rushing shouldercharge. Hold B and relase it. Spark Chaser - obtained from Terra/Earth. Bounces all over the place and does damage to anything in its path. Rush Coil - obtained from Venus. Use it to reach higher platforms you can't reach normally by jumping. Rush Jet - obtained from Saturn. Fly over normally impassable pits. Tango - start with it. Tango attaks the nearest enemy around. =============================================================================== Walkthrough =============================================================================== The first bosses appear like this Mercury Venus Mars Neptune Note: You don’t have to choose the bosses in our order. ~~~~~~ You can start with Mercury or Neptune since at this point, you have to use your Mega Arm to defeat them. If you want, you can start with Mercury then go in a Neptune > Mars > Venus order of weakensses. Mercury Move right and kill a bird. You'll notice that the conveyour belts occasionally chane direction. Try not to let the blocks fall on you as you hop over the pit as they comes out the chutes. Ignore the enemy at the end and just fall and pull left or right for P Chips and then fall down the middle where you'll land on the conveyour belt. Kill the bird and hop over the spikes and to kill the next enemy, shoot it in the back then hop over the saw that remains. Get the life energy if you need it then slide to the right. The enemy here will vanish then reappear over your head and try to crush you. Avoid the crushes and shoot it before it does it again. Once it is defeated, use the mini-platform for leverage to get to the ladder and climb up two screens. Move right to the next screen and kill the sawblader and climb down. The platform rises and falls. Avoid being crushed by the ceiling as you kill the enemies that spit a weapo reminiscent of Dustman's Dust Crusher in Part 4 of the NES series (or Part 3 of the Gameboy series). Climb up the ladder and shoot the hammer enemy then climb up and kill the other while avoiding the trash that they shoot when hammering down. Go right and kill the enemy that breaks trash into pieces then carefully trad across the conveyour belt and kill the Dust Crusher enemy from behind and go back for the 1-up and hop the pit after the block falls from the chute and go right. Carefully slide under the spikes to reach the E-Tank then slide back and climb down, shoot the enemy, and fall down to the left. Hop over the spikes and fall down the pit. Kill the hammerbot and climb down and kill the enemy that splits trash. Mercury awaits you. --------------- Boss Fight: Mercury Charge up before entering the gate then blast him as soon as his energy is done filling up. From here on, he will either split in three blobs and each piece hops across the sceen and reforms him or he will split into three blobs while moving along the floor then regroup. Blast him in-between these actions each time to win this easy fight. If you let him stay still, he'll use his Grab Buster which steals iems from you. Weapon Received: Grab Buster EE_RE ETT_E TR-TE T_E_R EERTR --------------- Neptune The floor rises and falls for the start of the level. You can only damage the enemies here when the eyes are showing. Charge up and get close to make them show their eyes then blast them. Some of them will try to hop on you with their spikes on the bottom of them. You can move right to ignore them. You'll have two helicopters to deal with total while on the surface of the submarine. Dodge the hail of bullets ad time your Mega Arm to destroy the homing missile and hit the helicopters at the same time. Three to four hits and it goes down. At the end drop down the hole. Shoot the dragonflies and watch for thier explosions as they are destroyed. A water stream comes out of some pipes when they are shot. Drop down and watch for the steam coming out of other shot cracks. They go away after 10 seconds then there is a pause before it starts steaming again. Go along with the path until you fall into the water and kill the two paddlers and then come out of the water and avoid the steam till you climb the ladder 3 screens while you avoid the steam. Kill the dragonfly and avoid the steam on route to the ladder and climb up. Jockey your way through the spikes in the water while killing a paddler and make a big jump ove the spikes at the end ad slide through the stream to safety but hop the pit. Now shoot the dragonfly avoid the steam and kill one more enemy before facing Neptune. --------------- Boss Fight: Neptune Slide under him when he hops towards you and blast him with you Mega Arm when opportunity knocks then dodge his Salt Water. He also try to jump up in down in one place and cause an earthquake which in turn causes droplets to drip down from the ceiling. You have no special weapon to take out Neptune but Tango can take a way a huge chunk of his energy once he gets through (run out of Tango energy). Weapon Received: Salt Water RRRTE E_RRT TETT_ RERR_ TTR_R --------------- Mars Fall down one screen and shoot the frog and get out of the way of the landmine and go right. Destroy a rocket but watch the radius of the explosion. Drop down the right and shoot the stegosaurus from a far ad keep falling. Kill the frog and use the Mega Arm and kill the Blade throwing Monking. Ignore the rising footstools and go right and don't touch the spikes on the ceiling. Kill the frog and climb down two screens and kill the enemy in between. Go right and avoid the spikes. Kill the Blade Monkings and Frogs and to defeat the big machine, use the platforms for leverage and get in three Mega Arm shots to destroy it. As you fall, align yourself with the small life-ups and you'll avoid landing on spikes. Kill the stegosaurus at the bottom and go right and stay low. Go along the path and climb the ladder and kill the frog and climb up again. Kill the stegosaurus and take the high road and avoid the spikes and get the E-Tank then drop down. Beware of the rocket. Drop down two screens and kill a stegosaurus and go right and destroy another big machine. Now just kill everyone on route to the boss. --------------- Boss Fight: Mars Arm your salt water and start shooting it as you jump over his Photon Missiles then if you can, you can take a shot from his machine gun and keep shooting Salt Water and destroy him hopefully before he charges at you. If he does charge, jump over him and steer clear of the mines. When they explode, you should have one shot left to destroy him. Weapon Received: Photon Missile TRTET ET_TE ERTTR R__RR _E_ER --------------- Venus Pay attention to the bubbles above, the lighter-shaded ones will drop down and attack you. Climb the ladder and deal with another bubble bot and keep climbing up. Kill the wasps and climb up again. Shoot the crabs and try not to get caught in their bubbles for a long time as they will lead to more danger. Wait for the waterfall to stop before hopping pits and kill the bubblebots. Ignore the enemy at the end and climb up two screens. Kill the owls as they blow you back and forth. Get the small E Tanks then slide back and go back forward and kill the owl. Next screen, kill a wasps and get the small E and climb the ladder. Ignore the splitter and kill the wasp. Slide to the next screen and get an item from Eddie then slide down. Kill a crab and go down the ladder. Stand on the big bubbles to jump higher, kill the wasps and climb the ladder. Kill the crab at the end and climb the ladder after the waterfall. Get the small E and wait for the waterfall and jump across. Slide over the gaps and kill the crab. Time your jumps and kill the wasps. Be wary of the spikes and slide under one set. Get past the waterfalls, bubble monsters, and crab then kill an owl at the end and climb the ladder. Kill one more bubble monster on route to Venus. --------------- Boss Fight: Venus Venus's jumps are tricky with those four small E-Tanks you picked up earlier, you should have at least one E-Tank on you. Aim your Photon Missiles at him and either he lands on them during the delay or they'll nail him once they move. Avoid jumping into the Bubble Bombs and the Photon Missiles can destroy the small ones. Weapon Received: Bubble Bomb and Rush Coil --------------- R_RE_ E__TE _TEE_ RE_R_ _T__R +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Select Terra and Megaman notices the emptiness. Megaman: That's strange. There is no one here. Terra: It's been a long time, Megaman. I didn't expect you to be in one piece again but that is of little consequence now. I will destroy you as I did before and avenge my fallen comrades. Dark Moon, Attack! --------------- Boss Fight: Dark Moon Avoid the approaching pieces the when Dark Moon appears, aim your Mega Arm at his eye. Then he will throw his pieces again, the top pieces bounce at you but you can stand still to avoid these. ERT__ RETRE EETRE T_TRE E_R_R --------------- Dr. Light: Welcome back, Megaman! I've just discovered some shocking news. The stardroids have been using the resources from Earth to create an even more powerful generation of robots. If they launch an all-out attack now, we'll be easily defeated. I'm not sure what to do. Megaman: Dr. Light, we need to strike now! If we can transform Rush for space travel, we can try a surpise attack and wipe them out. Dr. Light: .....OK. I'll start modifying Rush and give him some extra firepower This may take some time so why don't you go exchae your P chips for items. The bosses are in this order: Jupiter Saturn Pluto Uranus Now in this part, you can go against Jupiter or Pluto first since the order of weakness works like this Mercury > Pluto > Uranus Venus > Jupiter > Saturn Also in this part, you must collect 4 jewels (one from each side). You must return to Pluto's stage after beating Uranus to get the Jewel in his stage. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Jupiter Move right into the low-gravity area and kill the electric-themed enemies and make it indoors. Kill the magnet and the beetle and a generator-type enemy and slide to the right. Kill the enemy here and slide right again. Go down two screens and you'll end up back in the low-gravity area. Kill all the enemies here as you go right and slide right two screens and kill the floater and climb the ladder. Use the Mega Arm to get the items and then go right. Don't slip on the ice too much. Ignore the beetle above and slide right. Kill the wasp and fall down. Get through the low-grvity area and go up the ladder. Go back down and drop into the hole and pull left to avoid the spikes. Drop down and pull left again to avoid more spikes and move left and use the Mega Hand to get the jewel. Go back right and shoot a wasp and keep moving. Kill the enemies along the ice path and Jupiter awaits. --------------- Boss Fight: Jupiter Jupiter has a tendency to stay at the top of the screen and use Electric Shocks once he's directly overhead. He'll also use 3-way shots while still up there and sometimes will swoops down. Hmm! What weapon is good at nailing him while he is up there? Of course, the Bubble Bombs you got from Venus. They'll do just fine and do excellent damage. Weapon Received: Electric Shock TT_T_ ERRRT EETER T__RR T_TTR --------------- +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Megaman: Dr. Light, I foud this jewel on a planet. You better analyze it. Dr. Light: Let me see.... Well, this crystals seems to be the enery source used by that planet's ancient civilization. With 4 of these, I can make an item that will reduce the energy consumption of your special weapons by half. I assume there are similar crystals like this on other planets too. Collect all 4 crystals and bring them back to the lab. Good luck! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Saturn Fall down the right side and pull left. Use the Mega Hand to grab items then slide down. Kill the hammerbot in the low gravity area then in the high gravity area. Kill the cloudbot and fall down. Use the Rush Coil to get across the pit to the P-chip and go left and use the Mega Hand for the jewel then get out and fall down. Don't land on the spikes in the middle. Mega Hand the Pchips and climb down to the left. Kill the hammerbot and slide down. Let the springer fall to its doom and hop across the pit. Kill the enemies, get the 1-up and climb down the ladder and go to the bottom. Jockey through the varying gravity as you kill enemies then get an item from Eddie at the end. Go through the varying gravity changes and kill the mini-rocket shooters and use Mega Hands on the P-Chips and go right. Kill the springer and climb up then kill a Spiker and go right. The gravity is low here so don't jump into the spikes. The gravity gets higher then gets low again. Be on your toes. Kill the enemy with the hammer and Saturn is just ahead. --------------- Boss Fight: Saturn With the Electric Shock, 5 hits will be his demise. Jump over his slide after he tosses his ring and shock him. You can get some good shocks in if he is using his gravity pull. If he jumps and freezes the screen, he has a free hit on you so have at least some energy before facing him. Weapon Received: Black Hole and Rush Jet. T___R R_RTR E___T TTRTE ERT_R --------------- Pluto Drop down, kill the tank and drop to the left. Get off the platform before it drops into the spikes with you on it and kill the hammerbot and continue your downward trek for two more screens. Kill the napalm palmer on the way. At the bottm, kill the hammerbot and watch for the falling platforms above and go to the right. Make your way to the miniboss and watch for the spikes and enemies on the way. To beat the miniboss, stay far away from it as debris falls and blast it when it is within range. When it drills through the ceiling or floor, it will resurface on the opposite side. Avoid the debris as it does so. Once it is defeated, go right and kill the tanker. You'll see two ladders above but there is a third ladder below you which you'll need the Deep Digger to reach it so take the first ladder up for the P-chip then jump to the other ladder and climb two screens. Avoid the overhead falling platforms then fall down at the end. Kill the enemies here and watch for more overhead platforms and fall down. Same story in this next area. Defeat the second miniboss same way you beat the first one. Fall down and you'll encounter Protoman/Blues and he'll give you an S-Tank which is used immediately. He'll also clear the floor for you. Kill one more tak before encountering Pluto. --------------- Boss Fight: Pluto Jump or slide under his first shot then do the opposite for the other and by this time you got in two Grab Buster shots in. Hop over his Brake Dash and then he zigzag up the walls and throw three homing balls and repeat the pattern all over again. Weapon Received: Break Dash E_ER_ ET_E_ _TT_E TRER_ T___R --------------- Uranus Don't stay on the rolling platform to long or you'll go through it. Make it to the end and drop down. Kill the seal and Rush Coil to the logs and Break Dash through the blocks on the left for an E-Tank if you need it. Make your way to the bottom and face a miniboss. To beat it, aim your Mega Arm on the eyes as you use the blocks moving horizontally, for leverage and avoid the falling blocks indicated by the arrow where they will fall. Once the miniboss is beaten then you can fall down and kill a Blade Monking and go right. Slide to the right to get through and kill a chicken enemy and climb the ladder. Use the moving platform and kill enemies on route as you climb up three screens. Kill a seal and a bird, and a rocket. Kill a seal at the end and Rush Coil above where it used to be then Break Dash to the right for a Jewel. Go back and kill the seal again and fall to the bottom. Go right and kill the bird and jump off the platfoms as soon as possible. Use Black Holes on the bird and shoot the rolling rocket. Use the Black Hole to get through the birds here. Fall down two screens. On the way, you'll have to jockey though moving floors and the spikes. Destroy the second miniboss like the other one. Fall down to the right and kill the Blade Monking and go right. Kill the bird and jockey carefully through spikes and rolling platforms and go up the ladder. Kill the enemies here and Uranus awaits. --------------- Boss Fight: Uranus Uranus is not so tough. He will toss a block at you from the floor and hop up and down and cause the ceiling to come down on one side and kill you instantly if you get crushed. Use the Break Dash to do vicious damage. Four Break Dashes will stop him. Weapon Received: Deep Digger ETERE ETT_T ERRTR _T__E ETTTR --------------- Before taking on Terra, handle business on Pluto's stage. Then go to Wily's Lab to get the Power Generator free. R__T_ T_RTT RRR__ E_TRR __RTR --------------- Terra Megaman: I've finally defeated all the space stations! Terra: You fool Megaman! You have mettled with my plan for the last time. We could've created a new world for all robos! How can I face my master now? I must redeem myself by blowing you to pieces! --------------- Boss Fight: Terra Use Deep Diggers on this guy. Make each one count as you got a limited number of blocks to use. Avoid his Spark Chaser in between shots and when he vanishes, he will reappear eventually for more damage. Weapon received: Spark Chaser RETER ETERR TR_T_ ETREE RT_TR --------------- Megaman: I should have defeated all of the Stardroids. What? What's that star? Wait...It's moving...NO! It can't be! Wily?! Is he behind this?! Oops! That was close. Hit the jets, Rush! Let's go! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Now that you have defeated all the Stardroids. Get ready for some real action as you go through a number of stages and have a huge boss-a-thon including the original bosses from Megaman 1-4 and then the original eight stardroids. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Wily Castle Stage There are a ton of meteors to jockey through. Shoot enemies that come at you as you after you get past the meteors. Once they are gone, you have to dodge five lasers: first one is at the top, second one at the bottom, third one at the top a fourth one at the bottom then the last one will come at you through the center. --------------- Boss Fight: Wily Fortress Entrance Charge up the Rush Buster and wait for the Skull to open its mouth and fire off a laser then shoot it in the mouth each time it does so. When it moves down, shoot away the homing missiles but if it goes down, dodge the bullets. Remember this info and victory is yours and you are given access to the ship. --------------- Go right and kill all the enemies in the way and at the end, use the Break Dash and the Deep Digger. Kill the floor guns and on the next screen, kil the bubble crabs and use a combination of the Rush Coil, Deep Digger, and Break Dash to reach the two 1-ups and slide to them. Drop down and kill the tank. Climb the ladder and enter the gate. --------------- Boss Fight: Enker Run under or jump over Enker as he reaches the other side and use the Mega Arm CL move to hit Enker multiple times then jump over his shockwave which should be big up to this point and repeat the process. --------------- Drop down and pull left to avoid the spikes. You can also use the Rush Jet first and pull right to get in the gap and use the Break Dash to the right and get an S-Tank from Protoman then jump through the left and Deep Digger the block and slide right and get the 1-up afer getting through the neemy then go back and drop down. Kill the zapper and don't use the Deep Digger for anything and kill the zappers and enter the gate. --------------- Boss Fight: Quint Aim your Photon Missiles to nail Quint in the head, stay in one spot to lure him into landing in the spot when you move. Don't stand close to him or the rubble will get you. --------------- Drop down to the left and kill the enemies as you avoid standing on the falling platforms. At the end, Break Dash to the right. Go through the screen and get the items if you need them. Go through the wasps and falling platform and enter the gate. --------------- Boss Fight: Punk Avoid his spiked charges by sliding or jumping over them then hit him with Salt Water then avoid his Screw Crusher and repeat the pattern. --------------- Fall down and don't land on the moving spikes then drop all the way to the left and at the bottom, kill all the enemies in sight as you go right ad enter the gate. --------------- Boss Fight: Ballade His jumps are more threatening than his Ballade Crackers. Remeber that when you face him and try to time your Photon Missiles to where he'll land on them. They also destroy his Ballade Crackers and nail him too. Only other move to avoid is the charge and that's it. --------------- Drop down to the right and if you land on the ledge, Break Dash right and use the Break Dash to reach Protoman for an item then fall to the left. Run to the teleporter at the end. --------------- Boss Fight: First Eight Robot Masters Once again, they finally use the Megaman formula in the GB series which they didn't use till Megaman IV for GB. Now you got to face off with copies of the first eight robots. Here's a recap on what to use on who you fight and there are some changes. Neptune > Mars > Venus > Jupiter > Saturn > Mercury > Pluto > Uranus. Neptune has no weapon weakness but Tango will hurt him bad. As you can see, you can use the Black Hole (Saturn) against Mercury now. Here is the appearance in accordance Venus Uranus Jupiter Mercury Mars Saturn Neptune Pluto --------------- Get all the items and fall down a long ass shaft. Protoman gives you an item and clears a path for you to the teleporter. --------------- Boss Fight: 2 Wily Machine Hands You fight the hands one at a time. Lure it to you and wait until it misses then use the Grab Busters when the eyes appear. You'll get in two shots per round. The second hand is a little trickier. It moves faster, fires a missile and can pick you up, drop you, and try to smash you. --------------- Boss Fight: Wily Machine Body Avoid the homing missiles, then destroy the enemy that makes you float then when the time bomb appears, shoot it to where it explodes onto the robot. Repeat and that's it. --------------- Boss Fight: Dr. Wily Bad news: You can't jump too high. Good news: The spikes don't kill you instantly. Shoot the spark chasers as he does his own version of it. He'll do another Nova Blast then burn away the floor. On the nex floor, avoid the Fire Storms and bouncing stars as hyou pelt him with more Spark Chasers. He'll burn away the floor again then on the last floor, avoid his spinning ball charge and when he jumps, hit him before he uses a devastating acid rain attack that burns away the floor and give you a new floor to fight on.
