This game is not much to look at since it was made back in the late 70's and graphics were not an issue. Hell, this game did not have color except for black, white, and shades of grey. When you look back on all those games made by SNK to today, they've gone a long way. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Controls ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- D-pad - move left or right Fire button - shoot weapon ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- General Info ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your ship is run on energy located at the bottom-left of the screen. Your energy depletes as you move throughout the game but it goes down severely if you take a major hit. Throughout the game are recharge ships that refill your energy once you reached certain milestones of the game. The game can be for 1 or 2 player. The difference between playing on 1-player or 2-players is that in 1-player mode, you can still continue forward after taking a serious blow whereass a serious blow will cause the game to switch to the other player. Think of it as lives as you will. Some enemies blink in and out, your shots will fly past them if they blink out. The dangers of this game are enemy projectiles but some of them can be destroyed but the you should also beware of collisions too. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gameplay ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First you start off with 15000 energy points but you also start off receiving energy from the docking ship by flying into the laser. Now the adventure will begin. Destroy as many ships as you can until the remaining ones swoop by. If you can shoot them then leave them be. Shoot your way through some of the asteroid balls and as you advance forward, some ships will start shooting Photon Torpedos at you that are hard to dodge but they can be destroyed. Get past them and some more ships will appear and swerve downward in kamikaze mode. You'll see a rocker coming down. Destroy it and the boss appears. It will chase you down and drop Photon Torpedos at you. Time your shots to hit the boss as it chases you and you'll reach your second docking point. The ships will start flying in from the screen (start small and enlarge) ignore the side ones and stay in the middle as a base will appear in the middle of the top of the screen, once you pass the ship, shoot immediately and you'll destroy the ship the moment it appears and save yourself some trouble and destroy the mini ships that branched from it. There are some spinner ships that must be taken out in order to move forward. Carefully dodge their fire and slip in a shot to destroy them all. Get past the ships that split into smaller ones and the kamikaze and you'll meet that rocket again and the boss when its destroyed. Take out the boss the same way as the earlier one and you'll reach your third docking point. Stay in the middle for most of this phase and especially kill the spinner in the top of the middle of the screen and get past the splitters. Next come the kamikazes then ships dropping Photon Torpedos. Stay in the middle so you can kill a base ahead of time after getting past ships that zoom in, the rocket comes back and same old story except the boss is more aggressive. The fourth docking point is just ahead. First the zoomers, then the splitters, then the kamikazes. The base in the middle will appear next. Take it out quickly. The circle ships reappear and must be taken out to advance further. Kill them quick or wait till the splitter ships are gone before you take them out. The rocket and boss appear yada yada yada. You will reach docking point 5 if you survive. From here it's all about survival because it gets monotonous therefore, only details will be given. The meteor shower from level 1 return here after the first few ships in this area. The rocket and boss appear after the kamikaze and this time the boss drops lasers too. After Docking Point 9 they start using letters in its place so if you reach that part of the game, pat yourself on the back for making it this far, and after docking point F it resets to zero. Can you say "hexidecimal" that's how the stages worked. If you managed to get past Docking Point 0 area, then you "beat" the game as the game will reset itself.
