Madden Retired From His Own Game

After waking up this morning and turning on NFL Network, a special was playing "Favre: Drafting a Gamer" - EA's way of showing off Madden 09. Along with information about the cover athlete being Brett Favre, they've also announced the new announcers for the game: Tom Hammond of NBC Sports and Cris Collinsworth of NFL Network/NBC Sports. Stated in the show, EA was going for something new and decided to completely change the announcing team for this year's game.

Other things also included in the 20th Anniversary Edition of the game are the inclusion of Madden 93, plays from each edition of the game over time. They've also added in some other features like a play rewind - if a play didn't go the way you want, you have the option to rewind and retry the play - even though it might not count for yards, you can see what might happen if you didn't like how things went.

Not that I can honestly say I'll be purchasing another Madden game, the change in announcers is quite the change.
