The PC Games of 2008 - Part I

A comprehensive list of PC games to look forward to this year. Part I covers the RTS and Adventure games on the PC this year.

I recently came across a great topic over at systemwars.com... I'm re-doing that list

here and adding some games to it as well as fixing some errors/mistakes and

adding trailers/preview links on my own.

Some of the images linked are from the original's author's website, Adrian Werner...

however, I have uploaded some screens via my imageshack account as well.

Just mentioning this because of the whole credit-where-its-due crap.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update: Added some previews and trailers. Marked games that I personally think you

definitely should check out in bold text and/or red colour. I'll update the rest of the posts tomorrow.

Update 1 : Replaced some crappy screens-showing-nothing to better ones. Hunted down more trailers.

Update 2 : Added Field Ops and Seven Kingdoms : Conquest.

Update 3 : Added X3 Terran Conflict and Mythos.

Update 4 : HUGE amount of work. Compiled the list onto my site in HTML.

Update 5 : Added some youtube embeds (Still under progress).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In this thread you will find comprehensive listing of all promising games that are scheduled for 2008 release. I only list promising games (ie those that are sequels to good games, are made by creators of good games or have very positive hands on previews)

Exclusives

Early demo:

Seven Kingdoms: Conquest
New entry is likely the least known AAA series (Seven Kingdoms is rated 84% and its sequel 82% at GameRankings.com)
sevenkingdomsconquest20yx5.jpg

Disciples III: Renaissance
Disciples II: Dark Prophecy was one of best turn-based fantasy strategy games of last few years.

It was released in 2002, around the same time such "monsters" from this subgenre like Heroes4,

Age of Wonders 2 and Etherlords were released. And yet it stood proudly next to them and secured

it's place as one of premier franchises of this type. Now it's back in full 3D and done by Akella.

society-20050516062624663.jpg

"Sam and Max Season Episode 201: Ice Station Santa

"Just slightly below Reality 2.0 on the list of great episodes; it’s laugh-out-loud funny,

with very intelligent puzzle design and a totally demented self-contained story which

interjects demonic possession into a sacred holiday. An absolute must-play."

- 9.0 from Adventuregamers
sam201.jpg

Sam and Max Season 2 Episode 202
"There are criticisms, to be sure, but ultimately they feel like small nitpicks on what is an

sam202.jpg

Sam and Max Season 2 Episode 203: Night of the Raving Dead
